Product Details
Chenille patches deliver a soft, thick, and textured finish that no other patch format replicates, making them one of the most visually distinctive options available for apparel and accessories. Each patch is produced by looping dense chenille yarn through a twill or felt base, creating a raised, velvety surface that carries strong visual weight and a premium tactile quality. They perform reliably on jackets, hats, backpacks, uniforms, hoodies, and all types of clothing, holding their structure and appearance through regular wear and repeated washing.
Full customization is available on every order from start to finish. Select your preferred size, yarn colors, felt or twill base color, border style, and any embroidered detail elements layered on top of the chenille fill for added definition and contrast. Backing options include iron-on, sew-on, Velcro, and adhesive to suit any garment type or application, whether that is varsity apparel, school merchandise, sports team gear, or branded retail clothing. Bulk orders are priced with volume discounts built in, so larger quantities bring your per-unit cost down while maintaining consistent quality across every single patch in the run.

Set your iron to medium-high heat with no steam, place a pressing cloth over the patch, press firmly for 25 to 30 seconds, and allow it to cool completely before handling for a strong, lasting bond.
Upload your artwork as a vector file (AI, EPS, or PDF) or a high-resolution PNG at 300 DPI or higher so we can produce clean, sharp results on every patch without any loss of detail.
Turn the garment inside out, wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, and avoid high-heat drying to protect the chenille yarn texture and keep the patch firmly attached over time.
If your chenille patches arrive with any defects or errors on our end, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will arrange a free reprint or suitable resolution with no complications.
We ship all patch orders worldwide with full tracking, standard production in 7 to 12 business days, and rush options available for urgent deadlines.
FAQ
Chenille yarn is thick and fuzzy, which means it is not suitable for very fine details or tiny text. For small text or intricate logos, we use a combination patch: the main body is made of fluffy chenille, while the fine details and small lettering are done using standard embroidery (felt or twill backing).
We can use multiple solid yarn colors (up to 4–6 colors typically) within a single patch to create vibrant designs. However, chenille yarn cannot do color gradients or shading like printed patches. If your design has gradients, we recommend mixing sublimation printing with a chenille border.
Embroidered patches use tightly stitched thread resulting in a flat, detailed, and slightly glossy finish. Chenille patches use a vaulted yarn stitch that creates a 3D, fuzzy, and carpet-like texture. Chenille is traditionally used for letterman jackets, while embroidery is used for corporate or highly detailed logos.
We traditionally use high-quality felt backing for chenille patches, as it gives them that classic, authentic varsity look and provides a clean border for sewing. However, we can also use twill backing upon request depending on your garment's style.
While we offer an Iron-on (Heat Seal) backing, we strongly recommend sewing (sew-on) chenille patches, especially for heavy garments like varsity jackets and hoodies. Because chenille patches are thicker and heavier, stitching ensures they remain permanently secured during wear and washing.
Yes, garments with chenille patches can be washed. However, to maintain the fluffiness of the yarn, we recommend washing the garment inside out on a gentle cycle with cold water, and hanging it to dry. Avoid high heat in the dryer as it can damage the adhesive backing and flatten the yarn.
