Product Details
Chenille patches are the most iconic and texture-rich patch format available, delivering a soft raised surface and a classic varsity look that never goes out of style. In fact, the thick looped yarn construction creates a deep, plush finish that adds dimension and character to any garment it is applied to. As a result, each patch makes a bold statement that stands out immediately on jackets, hats, backpacks, uniforms, and clothing of all types.
We craft every patch using premium chenille yarn on a sturdy felt or twill base that holds its shape, color, and structure through years of regular wear and repeated washing. Because of this, chenille patches for letterman jackets and varsity apparel maintain their full texture and rich appearance long after other patch formats begin to flatten or fade. In addition, iron on chenille patches apply quickly and securely to virtually any fabric surface without any sewing required.
Every order is fully customizable. For example, choose from:
- Size and yarn density to match your design and style
- Thread and felt colors selected from a wide available palette
- Border styles including merrowed, hot-cut, and laser-cut edges
- Backing type: iron-on, sew-on, Velcro, or adhesive
Furthermore, our patches are trusted by schools, sports teams, universities, retail brands, and organizations across the country. Therefore, whether your order is for a single team or an entire merchandise line, every patch meets the same premium production standard from start to finish.
In addition, our chenille patches wholesale program includes tiered volume discounts that lower your per-unit cost as your order size grows. As a result, larger teams, schools, and brands get consistent quality across every patch in the run without stretching their budget.

Set your iron to medium-high heat with no steam, place a pressing cloth over the patch, press firmly for 25 to 30 seconds, and allow it to cool completely before handling for a strong, lasting bond.
Upload your artwork as a vector file (AI, EPS, or PDF) or a high-resolution PNG at 300 DPI or higher so we can produce clean, sharp results on every patch without any loss of detail.
Turn the garment inside out, wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, and avoid high-heat drying to protect the chenille yarn texture and keep the patch firmly attached over time.

FAQ
Chenille yarn is thick and fuzzy, which means it is not suitable for very fine details or tiny text. For small text or intricate logos, we use a combination patch: the main body is made of fluffy chenille, while the fine details and small lettering are done using standard embroidery (felt or twill backing).
We can use multiple solid yarn colors (up to 4–6 colors typically) within a single patch to create vibrant designs. However, chenille yarn cannot do color gradients or shading like printed patches. If your design has gradients, we recommend mixing sublimation printing with a chenille border.
Embroidered patches use tightly stitched thread resulting in a flat, detailed, and slightly glossy finish. Chenille patches use a vaulted yarn stitch that creates a 3D, fuzzy, and carpet-like texture. Chenille is traditionally used for letterman jackets, while embroidery is used for corporate or highly detailed logos.
We traditionally use high-quality felt backing for chenille patches, as it gives them that classic, authentic varsity look and provides a clean border for sewing. However, we can also use twill backing upon request depending on your garment's style.
While we offer an Iron-on (Heat Seal) backing, we strongly recommend sewing (sew-on) chenille patches, especially for heavy garments like varsity jackets and hoodies. Because chenille patches are thicker and heavier, stitching ensures they remain permanently secured during wear and washing.
Yes, garments with chenille patches can be washed. However, to maintain the fluffiness of the yarn, we recommend washing the garment inside out on a gentle cycle with cold water, and hanging it to dry. Avoid high heat in the dryer as it can damage the adhesive backing and flatten the yarn.
